Vehicle Description Welcome to THE VETTE NET, Nationwide and International Corvette Brokerage Network, your destination for selling and buying Corvettes, in business since 1998 and Lifetime Business Member of the National Corvette Museum.
It is hard to overestimate the significance of the 1963 Split Window Coupe As the first redesign, introducing the 2nd generation of Corvettes (1963-1967, later called the Mid-years), it stunned the automotive world with a sleek redesign and enhance performance.
The claim to fame was the one-year only Split-window design, a feature that was later, in 1964, discontinued due to the limited rear visibility This made it a desirable model throughout the years and the cornerstone of many collections.
We are proud to bring to your attention a fine example of the era, a beautiful Split Window Coupe, featuring the base 327/250 engine mated with the fairly rare Powerglide Automatic transmission.
Only 12.
2% of production (2621 out of 21513) were equipped this way, but we'll never know how many Coupes or Convertible had it since there is no evidence from the factory.
If we extrapolate, since production was split half and half, it is likely that only about 1000 Coupes out of 10594 were automatics.
In any case, this car was taken care of by the same enthusiast, the second owner, for the last 30 years.
The matching numbers 327 engine has the proper VIN and SC suffix for the 250 HP rating.
Engine and transmission were recently rebuilt and a long list of repairs and upgrades were done as following:
replaced wiper motor new battery new gas tank, fuel filter, hoses new oil change, filter and converter new distributor, rotor cap, spark plug wires new points/condenser/coil ballast resistor/coil new radiator, water pump, thermostat, antifreeze new tires new shocks new air cleaner new brakes front and back, new master new belts and hoses - new rear diff fluid new power steering unit and fluid - new grease joints/replaced all rubber grommets new exhaust mufflers new rear tie rods It appears that car is original and correct with the exception of the alternator.
It sports the correct Black paint in exquisite condition, also, interior appears to have been freshened up.
Color scheme is the one it came from the factory as per trim tag.
Accordingly, car performs as it should, gauges, instruments, tachometer, radio are all functional.
Clock is intermittently working, horn will need attention.
All in all, this is a Vette ready for your collection, to show and drive.
It comes from CALIFORNIA.
Car is privately owned and sold and we can arrange financing and delivery nationwide and international.
